Man resurrects deceased wife as silicone statue in Odisha
In Berhampur, a city in the eastern Indian state of Odisha, a touching tribute has unfolded as local businessman Prashant Kumar Nayak sought a unique way to honor the memory of his late wife, Kiran, who tragically passed away due to COVID-19. In an effort to cope with the immense loss and to keep her memory alive for his family, Nayak commissioned a life-sized silicone statue of Kiran.
This remarkable statue was crafted by a skilled sculptor based in Bengaluru, known for his expertise in creating lifelike sculptures. The project was both ambitious and heartfelt, costing approximately Rs 8 lakh to complete. The lifelike statue captures Kiran’s essence, immortalizing her in the family’s residence where she spent many joyful years.
The timing of the statue’s installation was particularly poignant, as it was set up right before the wedding of their elder daughter. The presence of Kiran’s statue at the event was a way for the family to feel her presence during such a significant family gathering, ensuring that she remained part of the important milestone.
Prashant Kumar Nayak’s gesture highlights the depth of his love and the lengths to which individuals go to remember and honor their loved ones. The statue not only serves as a physical reminder of Kiran but also as a symbol of enduring love and memory that transcends the barriers of life and death. Through this tribute, Nayak has created a permanent way to remember his wife, ensuring that her spirit continues to be a part of their home and family life.
